Incheon Asiad Main Stadium opens to the Public

 

On June 1, 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee (IAGOC) hosted a friendly football match between Korea and Kuwait to test its games operation system, with 51,000 spectators in attendance.

 

President of IAGOC Kim Youngsoo, Chairman of the Coordination Committee and IOC members Tsunekazu Takeda, officials from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) also attended this event.

 

Through the match, IAGOC inspected the transport, protocol, admission, security, and etc.

 

During half time, IAGOC also held ‘Smart Torch Relay’ event which is first torch relay in the Asian Games history by using NFC function on smart phones. After the match, food tasting event was also held for VIP and media members.

 

Kim Youngsoo, President of IAGOC said that they were concerned about the accessibility to Incheon Asiad Main stadium. However, the enthusiastic interest and attention from people led to a very successful event.

 

President Kim also said that IAGOC will do its utmost to make the 17th Asian Games, which is just around the corner, a resounding success, by solving pending issues out of games operations long before the games start in September 19.
