Pro Golfer Choi Kyoungju Becomes Incheon AG Goodwill Ambassador

 

On May 14, Choi Kyoungju, a Korean professional golfer who currently plays on the Professional Golfers’ Association Tour, has been appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador of the 17th Asian Games at SKY72 Golf & Resort.

 

Kim Youngsoo, President of the Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee said that, “we believe he would make an ideal golf star to promote the Asian Games among Korean and Asians as well. We are thrilled to have him as the Goodwill Ambassador of the 2014 Asian Games.

 

He hopes that Mr. Choi’s successful play and the 17th Asian Games will give hope and be great encouragement to all Koreans and families who are in mourning due to the tragedy involving the Sewol Ferry.

 

In response, Mr. Choi said that “I am honored to be appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games and I will do my best to promote the 17th Asian Games”.

 

Choi Kyoungju is an 8-time PGA tour winner. Since turning pro in 1994, he has won a total of 20 professional golf tournaments worldwide, including eight on the PGA Tour, making him Asia's most successful golfer.

 

His most notable victory came at the 2011 The Players Championship in May, 2011. Choi won The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in a playoff against David Toms. This is the South Korean's biggest PGA Tour victory to date.
