The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee (IAGOC) is to hold a draw for free bicycles for Incheon citizens spectating at a pro baseball game as part of an effort to boost the atmosphere for a green Asian Games in Incheon prior to a flag handover ceremony to be held during the Closing Ceremony of the Guangzhou Asian Games on November 27.
The IAGOC is offering 30 bicycles as giveaways for approximately 20,000 baseball fans and Incheon residents spectating at a game between SK Wyverns (currently No. 1 in the standings) and Doosan Bears (No. 3) to be held at the Munhak Baseball Park at 6.00 p.m. on September 7, 2010.

The winners of the bicycles will be randomly selected through a computer-generated draw and announced on the electronic scoreboard at the end of the 7th inning. They are to exchange their winning tickets for the bicycles at a nearby shop (TEL. 032-433-5434) after the game.

In order to create public interest and an atmosphere for participation in the Games, the IAGOC will invite 2,000 guests including Incheon residents with disabilities. SK Wyverns will also invite 15,000 primary and secondary school students in Incheon as part of their ‘School Day’ event.

Before the game, there will be a bicycle performance by 30 members of the Korea Bicyclists Association’s Incheon Headquarters riding on the giveaway bicycles at the ball park. Following the performance, Mr Song Young-gil, Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City, and a student representative will open the game by throwing and hitting the first pitch.

“The bicycle giveaway event has been prepared in order to pledge to make the 17th Asian Games a success, to concentrate Incheon citizens’ efforts into the Games preparation and to raise the local community’s interest and encourage participation in the Games prior to the flag handover ceremony in November. We ask passionate fans of pro baseball and Incheon citizens for their interest and support,” said IAGOC staff.
