IAGOC to send staff to Guangzhou

The 2014 Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee (IAGOC) is to send its staff members, including a team manager and 12 managers, to the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC) for two and a half months from September until the end of the Guangzhou AG in late November, said IAGOC staff on August 19.
The decision was made to put in an all-out effort to prepare for a successful Asian Games in 2014, as the 13 staff members will gain first-hand knowledge and experience in the Games preparations and operations while taking part in the Guangzhou AG.

The 13 organizers of the Incheon AG are all fluent in either English or Chinese. After a number of consultations with the GAGOC, they will be placed in various jobs in a total of 10 departments, including sports, international relations, facilities management and media, and become part of the Games preparations and operations.

The decision to send IAGOC staff to GAGOC was made when IAGOC Secretary General Mr Bae Jhong Shin had a meeting with GAGOC Deputy Secretary General Dr Gu Shi Yang during Mr Bae's visit to Guangzhou on August 11.

Incheon plans to train the staff before they are sent to Guangzhou. They are expected to solidify their knowledge by learning lessons from previous Games and acquiring expertise and knowledge in specific fields.

China also sent 24 staff to the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee months before the Doha AG in 2006.
