The World Broadcasters Meeting (WBM) for the Rights-Holding Broadcasters of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games opened on January 15, at Sheraton Incheon Hotel in Songdo, Incheon.

The WBM is a gathering of some 180 participants from the Incheon Host Broadcasting Management (IHB), the international host broadcaster of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games; the 17 Rights-Holding Broadcasters; SK Telecom, the Official Telecommunications Sponsor; and Hanjin, the Official Logistics Supplier.  The Games management and plans for international broadcast feed production are discussed at the WBM.  Among the international Rights-Holding Broadcasters are NHK and TBS from Japan, CCTV from China, TPT from Thailand, I-Cable from Hong Kong, and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.

After discussing the general preparations and technical details of the broadcasting plans and facilities, the participants will tour some of the major venues of the 2014 Asian Games on Thursday, including the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, Munhak Park Tae-hwan Aquatics Center, the Media Village, and the International Broadcasting Center.  Each Rights-Holding Broadcaster will also have independent meetings with the IHB to discuss their broadcasting plans.
