Vision 2014: POC archers learn from the best in Korea

06 FEB 2012
Manila, Philippines: The Philippine Olympic Committee reports on the latest group of talented young athletes to benefit from the OCA-Incheon Vision 2014 Programme designed to assist National Olympic Committees in their quest for medal glory at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, Korea, in 2014. A total of seven Philippine National Archers and one Philippine National Coach were given the privilege to train under Coach Park, one of the best Archery Coaches in the world.

Sponsored by the host country, the Philippine delegates - Stephanie Azarias, Carl Buenaventura, Paul Marton Dela Cruz, Arjayson Esturas, Marie Cabral, Florante Matan, Caitlin Miciano and coach Enriqueta Buenaventura - resided at the Royal Hotel in Incheon city for their month-long training.

Apart from their everyday exercises, the Philippine archers were allowed participation in the local National Team competitions at the Subong Park. The delegates report further that besides the tough training, there was still room for exploration and recreation as they toured the city and parks towards the end of their trip.

Upon their return, Philippine Coach Enriqueta "Neneng" Buenaventura relayed both her high praises to the host for their support and her high hopes for the trainees.
