NOC Profile

  • General interest
    • Highlights : Cambodia won its first Asian Games medal when boxer You Chin Hong won bronze in the men's lightweight category at the 1962 Games in Jakarta.

Boxing also provided two silver medals in Cambodia's most successful Games, in 1970 in Bangkok. It won two bronze in swimming and one in volleyball, to finish with five medals in total.

The success did not continue after 1970 though, as Cambodia did not appear at an Asian Games for 24 years, eventually returning in 1994.

The country has not won a medal since returning, with their best result of recent times being Chov Sotheara's 2010 fifth-place finish in the women's freestyle wrestling 48kg category.
