  • General interest
    • Highlights : Uzbekistan began competing at the Asian Games in 1994 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and it has won over 10 medals in four of its five appearances.

      Boxing, freestyle wrestling and canoe sprint have been the most successful sports for Uzbekistan. Sprint paddler Ivan Kireev is one of three Uzbekistan athletes to win three gold medals. All his golds were won at the 1994 Games, when he triumphed in the men's K1 500m and K1 1000m and was part of the K4 team that won the 1000m.

      The other two athletes to win three gold medals are freestyle wrestling duo Dilshod Mansurov and Artur Taimazov. Both athletes won three consecutive gold medals between 2002 and 2010, Mansurov in the men's 55kg category and Taimazov in the men's 120kg division.
