  • General interest
    • Highlights : Tajikistan won two bronze medals on its debut in the Asian Games in 1994, when it began competing at the Games after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.

      Tajikistan's first Asian Games champion was Dilshod Nazarov, who triumphed in the hammer throw in 2006. Five days later, boxer Dzhakhon Kurbanov was crowned Tajikistan's second gold medallist, as he won the light heavyweight division.

      Four years ago in Guangzhou, Nazarov returned to the top step of the podium, again winning the hammer throw.
