  • General interest
    • Highlights : Kyrgyzstan began competing at the Asian Games in 1994 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and has competed in every edition since its debut.

      Kyrgyzstan has won two gold medals at the Asian Games, with the first coming in 2002 when Tatyana Efimenko leapt to gold in the women's high jump. Greco-Roman wrestler Daniar Kobonov then added a second gold medal for Kyrgyzstan in 2010, when he triumphed in the 74kg weight division.

      Cyclist Eugen Wacker, also known as Evgeny Vakker, is the only athlete representing Kyrgyzstan to winfive medals. After originally excelling on the track, winning a silver and a bronze in the individual pursuit in 1994 and 1998 respectively, he switched to the road and won three consecutive silver medals in the individual time trial between 2002 and 2010.
