NOC Profile

  • General interest
    • Highlights : The men's cricket team won Bangladesh's first Asian Games gold medal in 2010 in Guangzhou four years ago. In the same year, the women's team had the opportunity to achieve the feat but lost their final and had to settle for silver.

The country's first medal at an Asian Games came during the 1986 Games in Seoul, when Mosharraf Hossain, a boxer from the Bangladesh army, beat a Nepalese contender to win gold in the light heavyweight category.

Bangladesh's national sport kabaddi has supplied the country with a medal at every Games since the sport's inclusion in 1990, including bronze at the 2010 Guangzhou Games.
