TOUGH START
She began taekwondo training at age 12, which is late compared to other elite Chinese athletes. She almost gave up the sport, as it was assumed that being tall and having long legs was important in order to be successful in taekwondo and she was only 140cm at the time. However, she persevered her coach, Wang Zhijie's insistence and eventually broke into the national team. (sina.com.cn, 21 Aug 2012)
