REWARDS
After winning a bronze medal in the 56kg category at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, the government gave him 75,000 Indonesian Rupiah [approx 8,000 USD]. He has used all of his winnings from weightlifting to support his family. "All the bonuses I have received goes to building the home shop, buying land and rice fields for my parents." EARLY DAYS
His father worked as a paddle rickshaw driver and his mother a vegetable trader. As a boy he used to work herding goats, which he says taught him how to be responsible.
