General
2012 OLYMPIC DISQUALIFICATION
She was one of eight players from four doubles pairs who were disqualified from the 2012 Olympic Games competition after a Badminton World Federation [BWF] disciplinary committee ruled they had deliberately attempted to lose a group match in order to manipulate the knockout stage. The players appeared to deliberately hit shots long, wide or into the net, in an effort to avoid facing either their compatriots or top seeds in the knockout stage. After being booed off the courts by frustrated spectators, all four pairs [one Chinese, two Korean, and one Indonesian] were charged by the BWF with "not using one's best efforts to win a match" and "conducting oneself in a manner that is abusive or detrimental to the sport" and expelled from the Olympic competition.
