Additional Information General
FROM KENYA TO BAHRAIN
Born in Kenya, he switched allegiance to represent Bahrain in 2005. (tilastopaja.org, 25 Oct 2006)

AGE MANIPULATION CONTROVERSY
He, along with two other Kenyan-born Bahraini athletes, were under investigation by the International Association of Athletics Federations [IAAF] for age manipulation after competing at the 2005 World Youth Championships. Strong suspicion was raised about their eligibility for the U18 event. In March 2007, the IAAF concluded his date of birth on a birth certificate had been falsified in order to obtain a Bahraini passport. In August 2007, the IAAF annulled all his under-age results including his victory in the 2000m steeplechase at the 2005 World Youth Championships in Marrakesh, Morocco and his silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing, China as a result of the findings.
